Oh, that wacky Jose Conseco!

BGOBGAI! Quickie:

Oakland Athletics v Boston Red Sox

As a kid growing up in the 80’s and 90’s, I remember the great stories of baseball’s “Bash Brothers.”  Mark McGuire and Jose Canseco were the power of the Oakland Athletics team and famous throughout the league.  Heck, I even had a t-shirt of Canseco at one point.  Then the whole steroids thing sort of put he and his bash brother, Mark McGuire, firmly off the pedestal on which I put them.

Then came his book, that called out all the steroid users by name, and then the boxing fights and reality show appearances.  Granted, his fall from grace might induce mild fits of stomach discomfort, but it is entertaining nonetheless.

The latest? He shot himself in the hand while cleaning a gun.  Why does this piece of news not surprise me? Even better? Here is fiancee tweeting his condition yesterday:

My question obviously is…which finger?

Greetings blog wanderers and seekers of truth, or whatever truth appears to be from the mind of a warped individual. You have reached the inner sanctum of some guy named Alan. Having graduated college sometime shortly after the Earth cooled, he finds himself in his late 30's and working out in the real world. His humor is dry and his outlook not so serious and somehow has picked up the nasty habit of writing about himself in the third person. He is married with child and loves his family, sports and, of course, his beloved video games...likelihood of his growing up? Not good. Are you an established site or magazine looking for a writer? Drop me a line if you are interested.
